The Royal Palace
Originally built as a hunting residence for King Charles of Bourbon, the Capodimonte Palace later became a royal home for three different dynasties.
Visitors can walk through magnificent and richly decorated rooms, such as the Hall of the Cradle and the Grand Ballroom, surrounded by family portraits, fine artworks, and exquisite luxury objects crafted by the Bourbon royal manufactories.
The Museum
The museum’s story begins with the prestigious Farnese Collection, one of the most celebrated art collections of the Renaissance.
Inherited by Charles of Bourbon from his mother, it was brought to Naples in 1735.
Over the centuries, the collection has continued to grow through important acquisitions from royal families, as well as churches and convents across Naples.
The Park
Spanning 134 hectares and home to over 400 plant species, the Capodimonte Park is a peaceful green oasis overlooking the city and the Gulf of Naples.
Along the elegant avenues designed by architect Ferdinando Sanfelice, visitors can admire 16 historic buildings, including fountains, statues, and churches.
In 2014, it was awarded the title of Italy’s most beautiful park.
